The science department courses are designed to prepare our students for science for the 21st Century. Science instruction encourages students to exhibit critical thinking and problem solving skills. Additionally, given the ever-increasing importance on scientific research, our courses foster the development of skills in data acquisition and interpretation. Students will discuss, analyze and evaluate scientific literature, especially relating to real world situations. The use of observations and hands-on inquiry-based activities will be utilized in order to support a greater understanding of scientific principles, analysis and science literacy.
Our science program is intended for all students. The instructional process caters to students with different backgrounds; learning styles and intellectual ability. Campbell High School requires a minimum of three years of science education for graduation. Students must obtain two credits by completing the freshman and sophomore courses. Comparable subjects of transferring students will be accepted on a student by student basis.
